What is ZURIGAY?
The ZURIGAY - Online Magazine offerst informations (news, agenda, city guide) and entertainment (3d-chat, messenger, galleries, personal ads) for gays and friends. Even if our news and reports (Backflash) are most about the gay szene of Zurich you can find here ZURIGAY-Members from all around the globe.

What's for free - where must one pay?
The ZURIGAY-News, the Agenda and the gayGUIDE can be read by everyone without login. But if you register (for free) you get your own profile, you can send messages to other members, read the Backflash reports, find friends searching the memberlist, post in the forum, join a club or post personal ads. Top-Members prove their adult age by a secure credit card transaction to get access to all the X-rated content like member pics and our huge gallery. Of course there are a lot more advantages being a Top-Member at ZURIGAY...

The avatar - your 2nd ego
IIn ZURIGAY every member has his own damn good looking avatar. It's an animated figure that takes your place in this game. While editing your profile or chatting in GaYmeCHAT you can dress your avatar, brown his skin and make him smile. The avatar stands for you in the 3d-chat and it delivers the mail when you send a message to another member.

Messenger or chat?
GaYmeCHAT is a 3d-chat, where you can meet members and non-members (guests): When you chat a bubble will appear next to your avatar. This bubble can be seen by all other chatters whose avatars are currently in the same room.
The ZURIGAY-Messenger sends messages (like SMS) to a specified member (currently online or not). For every username and member profile there is a mailbox where incoming messages are stored until the recipient logs in next time. The messenger can also attach previously uploaded images from your profile to a message.

The member frame
As soon as you're logged in (login right above) the member frame appears at the bottom of the main window. Just click on a portrait to open a member's profile. Using the tabs you can get different lists: You see who's online (green), who's walking around in GaYmeCHAT (blue) and you can see what your friends are doing. Click on Seach to search the memberlist to find cool guys in your region or some who share your interests. The function Visitors shows who visited your profile during the last days. Click on Pictures to rate the pics of other members and watch the Top-10. The round buttons open the Messenger or start the GaYmeCHAT.

Getting started
First you should make a cool profile. Log in, click on My Profile and fill in all tabs. Then you should upload some cute pics. Profiles without pictures are boring. After you saved your settings you can watch some other profiles by clicking a portrait in the members frame or in the members list. The description of the messenger can be found here.

Finding new friends
The best recipe to find new friends is to make an interesting profile and to stay online!

Activity score

Not logged in or cookies disabled No cookie for username found No autologin

Cookies?
ZURIGAY uses cookies to identify users. When you log in a cookie-value is stored on your computer that identifies you until you log out or close all browser windows. If you disabled cookies in your browser settings, ZURIGAY will not be able to see that you are logged in. The autologin feature also uses a cookie to save your password on your computer. You can enable and disable cookies on Internet Explorer in the menu Extras -> Internet options. You can switch on/off the autologin using the cookie button on the bottom left of the Home page.

Missing parameters or invalid session?
ZURIGAY is called without sender identification and cannot recognise who's calling. May be you have disabled cookies (see above) on your computer..

The window of the messenger or the profiles don't open.
You have probably a popup blocker installed. In the window statusbar of MS Internet-Explorer (WinXP) appears this symbol: or this one at Netscape: . Please deactivate the popup blocker or add www.zuerigay.ch to the list of trusted sites. : "Always allow popups of this site ...". Other popup blockers may be part of an antivirus software like Norton Internet Security. Try to disable the popup blocker there.

The animated pages don't display properly?
To view ZURIGAY you need the latest version of the Macromedia Flash-Player (Version 7). You can download the flash player here for free: Flash-Player.

My city does not appear on the map.
Our database contains most of the swiss ZIP codes. When you edit your profile (click on "My Profile" after login) you can set your position by clicking on the flag button. Try the database search again or set your position manually by clicking into the map. The position will be saved when you save your profile.

I cannot upload my picture.
The upload only accepts images in JPG format. Other images (TIF, BMP, GIF, PICT, PNG,...) must be converted in a paint program (eg. Photoshop, Photopaint, MS Paint, ...) into JPG. Open the file and save or export it as a JPG. It's not enough just to rename the file.

All animations are running very slowly.
To play ZURIGAY - RealWORLD you need a faster PC. If there are too many avatars acting in one room you can disable the rendering function to speed up the display (choose display at the options menu).
 

Can I stay anonymous?
Yes, you can decide which information is shown in the profile by checking or not checking some boxes while editing your profile. But notice that your profile will be much more interesting if you give some informations about yourself.

Do I have to indicate my age?
Every member must enter his real age. That's what you expect from the others too.

My picture does not appear in my profile.
Cause of protection of minors we must review all images before publishing them. Please be patient for one or two working days. More about how to upload images above.

My I post nude or sex pictures?
If you like to present yourself naked in front of other ZURIGAY-Members or you want to post a strip slide show into your profile you are welcome! Images with erections or sexual acts can only be watched by adult ZURIGAY-Top-Members. The first portrait image must be G-rated anyway.

Which window must stay open to receive messages?
In the main window it's the buttom frame with the letter symbol that keeps the connection upright. When you get a message, the letter blinks green and your chosen ringtone sounds. Click on the letter button to open the messenger window.
If you want to stay online while working something else, then click on the [ _ ]-button right above to minimize the main window to a small window with only two buttons: one to open the messenger and one to restore the main window.

Will my messages be saved?
All messages you receive are saved on our servers until you get them on your screen. By downloading a message you delete it on the server. If you don't log in a long time your mailbox might be over quota and you cannot get any new messages.

Where has my profile gone?
If you don't log in for more than 3 months we must assume that you are not longer interested in chatting on our site. Your profile will be deleted after sending you some warnings by email.

Please play the tutorial level. You'll get all important hints explained there. If you still have problems, click the ?-button or ask another member for help: "Hilfe, i chumme nöd drus!"

The chat does not react on any key!
Your keyboard is only active in the active window. If the ZURIGAY window has lost the focus, just click into it and you can type again.
 

1. ZURIGAY is an open platform for gays and friends.
2. You must be of adult age to register as a Top-Member.
3. You are responsible for all content that you provide to this site and that it is not against any law of your and our country.
4. We do not accept any illegal content within texts and images in particular no call to sex with minors (StGB 187: Sex and the missguidance to sexual actions with minors under 16 years with an age difference of more than 3 yeas is amerciable), no pornography showing sex with minors, animals, human excrements (StGB 197: even pictures of piss sex are illegal in Switzerland!), and no call to discrimination, hate, violence or drug abuse. Callboys unter 16 are not allowed.
5. Indications of age cannot be verified. You are responsible for verifying the majority of your partners. It's illegal to ask minors for any sexual actions.
6. Be tolerant and treat others with respect. It is not all about sex. If somebody says no you must accept this. Harassments can be reported over the feedback form in the INFO menue.
7. Your profile and all the data you provide can be viewed worldwide. By uploading data you agree to its publication.
8. User profiles may be designed anonymously. You are not allowed to pretend someone else's identity by using his name or picture.
9. ZURIGAY reserves the right to edit or delete any offensive, illegal or otherwise inappropriate content without warning.
10. It's not allowed to cheat to get a higher activity score by uploading irrelevant or multiple times the same content. Your Top-Member time may be revoked if we have to delete your postings.
11. Any violations of these terms and conditions can lead to a ban of your username, of your IP-address, to a loss of Top-Membership without refund, to the deletion of your entire profile or to a report to the police.
12. Website bugs, loss of data or temporary unavailability gives no right to any refunds. Changes of prices and functionality are always possible.
13. There is no refund on membership fees. We will not be liable for any damages. You use this site at your own risk.
14. These Membership Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Switzerland. The exclusive court of jurisdiction is Uster.

 

Online communities with member profiles are more interesting the more each member tells about himself. It's up to you to tell everybody your personal secrets and sexual fantasies using your real name or to stay anonymous.

• We take the privacy rights of all users seriously . We do not spy and do not involve ourself in private discussions. We treat confidential what we know about you and do our best to prevent abuse of these data. But you should always think that every member and everyone who knows your username can watch your profile.
• ZURIGAY uses your data to display your profile, to define the properties of your avatar, to grant access and to customize ZURIGAY after your needs. Your data can be used for member lists, search functions, statistics or functions to filter ad content after your preferences.
• At ZURIGAY there are public spaces (e.g. the News Forum), member areas (e.g. member lists) and private areas (e.g. Clubs and VIP galleries for your friends only).
• ZURIGAY can freely use uploaded pictures in any form and place within this community (e.g. Top 10 of the best profile pics) and also for advertising for this community. We will not use pictures that you declared as "internal", "only for friends", or pictures in club galleries with restricted member access outside of these areas.
• ZURIGAY will not sell private data to third parties and we only use your personal email address for internal messages.
• We do not read personal messages. But messages can be observed or scanned when required by law or when criminal offence or a break of our Terms and Conditions is suspected.
• ZURIGAY uses Cookies e.g. to locally save your username at login, for you do not have to retype it on your next visit. If you activate the "Autologin" option in your profile, also your password will be stored locally on this computer. Do not use this function if other persons who you do not trust use this computer!
• When you delete your profile, your personal data and profile images will be deleted and your e-mail will be removed from our mailing list. Your posts and pictures that you uploaded to our forums and clubs will remain.
